Accord presents its 30,000th ‘welcome box’

Accord Mortgages has presented its 30,000th welcome box – the complimentary hamper sent on behalf of brokers to any first-time buyer or home mover who completes a mortgage with Accord.

The intermediary-only lender, which is part of Yorkshire Building Society, has sent boxes on behalf of more than 8,500 brokers since the initiative began in September 2016.

The boxes include two mugs, tea and coffee and some sweet treats to help new owners settle in. To mark the 30,000 milestone, a special edition hamper containing a selection of luxury products was presented to Carter Lee Financial Services Limited by Michael Clarke, Accord business development manager for South Wales and Bristol.

Lee Saunders at Carter Lee Financial Services Limited said: “We’re delighted to have delivered the 30,000th Accord welcome box and celebrate the success of this initiative.

“We’ve seen first-hand how Accord looks for ways to support brokers and the hamper gifts are one way of helping us improve our ongoing relationship with clients.”

Jeremy Duncombe, director of intermediary distribution at Accord Mortgages, said: “The feedback for the welcome boxes has been really positive since we launched them, The key thing for us, is that the hamper comes from the broker and not from Accord, strengthening the relationship between broker and customer.

“We’re always looking for innovative ways to support intermediaries, whether through our Growth Series, the Accord Client Hub or delivering gifts to help brokers celebrate the purchase of a new home with their client.”
