Adviser raises nearly £500 for Alzheimer’s research

Hannah Clegg, a mortgage adviser at Mortgage Advice Bureau in Swindon, raised £470 for the Alzheimer’s Society after running the Swindon Half Marathon in two hours and 44 minutes.

The course, which was changed last year, takes in many of the area’s landmarks, including the Old Town and the Magic Roundabout, before finishing in Wharf Green.

Clegg (pictured) said: “I’m so thrilled to have trained for and taken part in this exciting but challenging race – it was a great day. And, of course, it was an excellent chance to raise some much-needed funds to boost vital Alzheimer’s research. It’s a cause that’s very close to my heart.”

Jeremy Morcumb of Mortgage Advice Bureau Swindon, added: “We were all really impressed with what Hannah achieved, and were pleased to help with sponsorship. She trained really hard for this half-marathon.”

According to the Alzheimer’s Society, dementia is our greatest health and care challenge, and, within a few years, more than a million people will be affected by the condition. The organisation works to change the dementia landscape, and create a society where those experiencing it are accepted and supported, and can live in their communities without prejudice or fear.
