Aldermore selects Mind as 2019 charity

Aldermore has chosen Mind as its Charity of the Year for 2019 after a shortlist of charities were put to a bank-wide employee vote.

In support of Mind, Aldermore will hold a series of planned fundraising events throughout 2019, everything from bake sales to sponsored runs, and the Bank will match the amount raised at each event via its ‘pound for pound’ scheme.

Mind was founded over 70 years ago, with a mission to offer information, advice and support to people with mental health problems. As well as this, the charity lobbies the UK Government and local authorities and works to raise public awareness and understanding of issues relating to mental health.

James Mack, chief financial officer at Aldermore, said: “We are proud to have Mind as our chosen charity of the year as they have done amazing work raising awareness and changing mind-sets around mental health in the UK. It is estimated that one in four people will experience a mental health problem in any given year, and the support and services Mind provide to those going through difficulties is invaluable.

“We look forward to working closely with Mind to raise money in support of this great and important cause.”

Rebecca Hastings, head of corporate partnerships at Mind, added: “We are delighted that Aldermore has chosen Mind as their Charity of the Year. This partnership will help us to reach a point where anyone with a mental health problem feels able to ask for, and access, the help they need.

“Money raised will help fund our vital work including our Mind Infoline, information and advice services, and our campaigning to ensure everyone who has a mental health problem gets support and respect.”
