The Association of Short Term Lenders (ASTL) has published the line up for its conference on 14 September at Painters’ Hall in the City of London.
The conference, entitled ‘Brexit and Bridging’, will look at the current environment for short term lending and bridging, putting them in the wider political context, and discussing what attendees can do to ensure their businesses are prepared for the range of challenges and opportunities that they face.
Rob Lankey, ex-Aldermore managing director of commercial mortgages and former CEO of NACFB, and Michael Booth, barrister at New Square Chambers, join keynote speaker Tim Shipman, Sunday Times political editor, and representatives from the FCA and Bank of England on the bill.
The line up of speakers will include:
- Lorna O’Brien, technical specialist at the Financial Conduct Authority
- Peter Andrews, agent for Greater London at the Bank of England
- Faisal Choudhry, UK property analyst at Savills
Lankey will be providing insight into the lender/broker relationship, and how to achieve the perfect recipe, while Michael Booth QC will be exploring the dangers of fraud in the industry, drawing upon his legal expertise across money-laundering and bribery, company and insolvency, contractual construction, property and trusts, and the regulatory and disciplinary issues arising from all these areas.
