Steve Barber, managing director of Bridging Finance Solutions, is planning on running hundreds of miles for charity during 2016.

With all monies raised being donated to children’s hospice, Claire House, his first challenge kicks off in March with the Liverpool Half Marathon, and Tough Mudder in April. Throughout the rest of the year, Barber will also run the Chester half marathon, London marathon and Chester metric marathon and is hoping to get a place in the Great North Run.

In July, he will also run the Welsh 3000 that sets out to tackle every peak in Snowdonia over 3000ft within 24 hours.

A separate challenge in Aid of Help the Heroes sees Barber and friends carry out a 30 mile challenge through the Scottish highlands alongside the Royal Marines.

He said: “I’ve certainly set myself a few challenges this year in terms of my fitness and fundraising aspirations. I really enjoy fitness and in particular running and having completed my first marathon last year, knew that this was something wanted to do again. I hope that the sheer volume of runs I’m doing will encourage people to support me more and donate to the fantastic Claire House charity.”

Barber is running with various groups, friends and colleagues and has developed his own fitness schedule that will allow him the training and rest needed to fulfil all of his goals.

He added: “I broke my ribs during Tough Mudder last year, so understand the importance of planning! I’m looking forward to 2016 as a major year of charity fund raising for me that will hopefully see me reach some massive goals.”
