Bupa Individual Protection has added over 130 own occupation definitions to its individual income protection proposition.
These professions, which include dentists, surgeons and college lecturers, can now protect their income based upon their specific occupation.
Bupa Individual Protection’s head of product development, Steve Casey, said: “These changes are part of our commitment to enable intermediaries to offer the income protection coverage their clients expect. An own occupation definition gives customers peace of mind when they come to claim and enables them to fully understand the criteria by which they will be assessed.
