Clever Lending says forums show increasing need for specialist finance

Final forum next week at Haydock Park

Clever Lending has reported rising demand from brokers for ways to capitalise on lending opportunities that don’t fit the mainstream criteria.

The specialist distributor is holding its final lending forum in this series at Haydock Park on Tuesday 12th June and brokers can register for free to attend.

This follows “a very positive response” to its previous two lending forums at Kempton Park and the Coventry Ricoh Arena.

The forums have revealed there is still a clear demand for specialist lending as customers can have a blip on their credit profile, are looking at purchasing a property that some lenders may not want to lend on or the customer has an irregular income.

For example, the Registry Trust has recently published figure showing that more county court judgments (CCJs) were registered against consumers in England and Wales during Q1 2018 than any other quarter since current records dating back to Q1 2005 began, with 305,877 judgments registered against consumers during Q1 2018.

Clever Lending says figures such as these demonstrate the ongoing demand for access to specialist providers and the forums are aimed at helping brokers open new doors to help more of their clients in need of access to a wider range of lenders.

Specialist lenders at the event are Masthaven Bank, Shawbrook Bank, Kensington Mortgages and MT Finance and intermediaries attending the forum will have the opportunity to learn more about how they can help to grow their own business by having the knowledge to progress more cases that don’t match High Street lenders’ criteria.

The Haydock forum will also feature a keynote speech by Robert Sinclair, chief executive of the Association of Mortgage Intermediaries (AMI) covering the trends and themes in the mortgage market and the opportunities and challenges for brokers that lie ahead.

Robert Barnard of Pepper Money, will discuss the contributing factors that take would be borrowers off the High Street and how broker can build business revenue as a result. Mark Dryden of 360Dotnet will present on the impact of new technology on lending and how technology can create and strengthen relationships.

Paul Day (pictured), sales development director at Clever Lending, said: “The feedback from the previous forums has been very positive as brokers see how they can help more of their customers who may be self-employed, need commercial borrowing or are purchasing mixed use property, for example. They are also getting a much deeper insight into the ways bridging finance and second charges can be used for a wider range of customers.

“I would encourage North West brokers to attend the free forum at Haydock Park on 12th June to open up new opportunities as this could be vital for them to grow and develop their businesses. The specialist lenders can discuss with them one-to-one about the latest scenarios, new products and complex cases where more innovative solutions can be considered.”
