Don&’039t fear ASU

Following the last phase of the Competition Commission’s rules change on the sale of accident, sickness and unemployment (ASU) products which came into force on 6 April, Berkeley Alexander has raised concerns that the additional requirements on advisers who offer ASU products including PPI and MPPI could result in many being put off offering these vital protection products to their clients.

Geoff Hall, managing director at Berkeley Alexander, said: “The changes introduced by the Competition Commission are necessary but need not be onerous for brokers and it remains vital that they continue to offer these products to their clients. Let’s not throw the baby out with the bath water.
