Three team members from e.surv in Hinkley have taken part in a tandem skydive to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
On 30 August, e.surv’s Vicky Reynolds, James Walley and Nathan Taylor were scheduled to be plunging from a plane in the Leicestershire skies at the height of 13,000 feet, reaching speeds of 120mph in their freefall back to ground. The jump was taking place at Sibson Airfield, near Peterborough.
Having financed the skydive themselves, all money raised by the team will be donated to their chosen charity, the Make-A-Wish Foundation UK, which grants magical wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions.
Taylor said: “There’s a long standing charity focus at the Hinckley Office and the three of us wanted to make a big impression in our first year with the company. Initial discussions began in January to agree charities to support in the coming year and the idea of skydiving was thrown into the mix. There was a great enthusiasm from the get go, with people jumping on board straight away and, whilst we may be fewer in number than when we started, the excitement is still there.
“The three of us decided from the beginning that we wanted to pay for the jump ourselves so every penny we raise will go to the charity. We’ve been raising money for the past few weeks and, with a generous £1000 donation from e.surv, we have hit our target – but that doesn’t mean we don’t need more donations! Every penny raised for the Make-A-Wish! Foundation is worthwhile.”
