E.surv secures international standard for Information Security

E.surv Chartered Surveyors has increased its focus on risk and governance, strengthening its existing risk management solutions and control measures.

The British Standards Institute (BSi) has now certified that e.surv Chartered Surveyors meets the international standard for Information Security (ISO 27001).

The standard required the business to demonstrate the requisite rigour and controls across all the organisation, having invested heavily in people, technology and safeguards.

Paul RayCollins, director of risk and governance at e.surv, said: “This accreditation demonstrates our commitment to information security and certifies that the company possesses the competence – facilities, people, processes, systems and infrastructure – required to systematically identify and combat a range of potential threats and risks to information assets.

“We know this is something our clients value highly and will increasingly require as a prerequisite to secure future business.”

Fiona Linton, information and security manager, added: “Doing the right thing has always been part of the e.surv philosophy; it’s hardwired in our colleagues. That said, the level of commitment and cooperation involved in meeting the requirements of ISO 27001 was unprecedented.

“Following a sustained programme of training, coaching and guidance, our colleagues fully understand the importance of protecting the information we handle daily, and the role we can each play in making that happen.”
