The Teachers Building Society has added Paul Winter to its board as a non-executive director.
Winter (pictured) retired as CEO at Ipswich Building Society at the end of 2016. As well as his new role at Teachers Building Society, he is a board member of the University of Suffolk, a trustee of the Building Societies Association Pension scheme and has recently been appointed as chair of the New Anglia LEP Skills Board.
He said: “I am delighted to be joining the board of Teachers Building Society. I hope my experience as a CEO in the sector can assist the Society as it faces the opportunities and challenges ahead.
“Teachers is a unique organisation with a very clear place in the financial services market. I am sure it has a very bright and strong future.”
Winter joins Spragg and current non-executive directors Ian Grayson, Andrew Lee and Alexandra Pike on the Teachers’ board.
Roy Spragg, chairman of Teachers Building Society, added: “I’m delighted to welcome Paul to Teachers and I’m certain he will strengthen the board with his strong Building Society roots and in depth knowledge of working within a Building Society on a number of levels.
“I’m sure his knowledge will provide us with invaluable guidance on helping to meet the needs of teachers in England and Wales with mortgages and savings.”
