Most expensive April sale was for a flat

The ‘Price Paid Data’ from Land Registry for April 2016 has revealed that the most expensive residential sale during the month was of a flat in the London borough of Kensington and Chelsea for £6,250,000.

The cheapest residential sale in April was of a terraced property in Bradford, West Yorkshire for £14,100.

Of the 112,546 sales lodged for registration, almost 80,000 were freehold and around 7,000 were newly built.

With just over 18,300 sales taking place, there were 246 residential sales in England and Wales for £1 million and over and 152 residential sales in London for £1 million and over.

The most expensive commercial sale in April 2016 was in Warwick, West Midlands for £12,650,000. The cheapest commercial sale in April 2016 was in St Albans, Hertfordshire for £5,000.
