Halifax expands Scottish high street presence

Halifax is opening a third branch in Scotland in Edinburgh’s Princes Street.

The new branch will provide local customers with Halifax’s full service offering and give them greater access to Halifax products, such as the Reward Current Account, First Time Buyer mortgages and Children’s Savings products. Colleagues in the new branch will also provide advice and support on the number of ways that customers can bank with Halifax, such as online and mobile banking.

Open six days a week the branch will have 33 Halifax colleagues on hand to help customers with their banking needs. The branch will also provide customers with a more interactive environment with digital displays, wifi and iPads available for customers to use to do their online Customers will be supported using the technology to register for online banking and benefit from Halifax’s online offers such as Cashback Extras.

David Nicholson, group director at Halifax Community Bank, said: “Last year we announced our intention to open Halifax branches in Scotland’s biggest cities and we’re delighted to now open our third branch in Scotland.

“At Halifax we strive to make banking easier and more rewarding for our customer with more choice in the way that they do business with us, whether it’s online, by phone, and now also in branch in the heart of Edinburgh.”
