Hinckley & Rugby wants to beat previous charitable donation

Hinckley & Rugby Building Society is looking to exceed last year’s £1,350 donation to the East Midlands children’s hospice Rainbows voting at its Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Last year more than 4,400 votes were cast at or before its AGM. This year the money donated per vote has been increased to 40 pence for each online vote. Postal votes and those cast at the AGM, on March 21, will each attract a 25 pence donation.

The AGM, at 10am on March 21 at the Society’s head office on Upper Bond Street, Hinckley, will once again see money donated to the Rainbows Children’s Hospice, which helps children with life limiting and life threatening conditions.

Chief executive Chris White said he hoped the extra money per vote would encourage more members to take part in the AGM, boosting the total donation by hundreds of pounds.

He said: “We are committed to encouraging our members to take part in the governance of the Society and this is a popular way of doing so
