HML reaches 25

Servicing firm HML is celebrating its 25-year anniversary.

The business evolved from the Skipton Building Society’s spare computer system capacity and it started to administer other lenders’ portfolios.

It opened sites in Glasgow and Derry sites in 1998 and 2004 respectively, and launched an operational base in Dublin this year.

HML currently has approximately £44 billion of managed assets and 50 major clients, including banks and building societies. In addition, HML provides ‘standby’ services to a further £60 billion of assets.

The firm’s UK residential primary (sub-prime) rating by Fitch is the highest in Europe and its prime rating is the equal highest rating of any servicer in the world.

Andrew Jones, chief executive officer of HML, said: “I am delighted that 2013 marks the 25th anniversary of HML. Over the years, we have grown into the UK and Ireland’s leading third-party mortgage administrator. In 2002, we became the first UK residential mortgage servicer to be rated by Fitch, and our experience within the industry is frequently noted in ratings reports.

“In 2007, our assets under management hit £50 billion, which is testament to our expertise, quality and stability, which are key differentiators when selecting a servicer. In 2013 alone, we have signed 17 new deals across our service and products offering, which stands us in good stead for further progress and development.

“I’d like to thank all HML staff for their hard work over the years, and look forward to seeing how we grow and develop in the future.”
