House prices fell by 0.6% in August, the Nationwide Building Society has reported.
The average price of a home in the UK is now £165,914, down from £168,731 in July.
The price of a typical home in August is 0.4% lower than one year ago.
Robert Gardner, Nationwide’s chief economist, said: “UK house prices declined by 0.6% in August
