Kensington makes staff experience claim

Specialist lender Kensington believes it could have the most experienced team in the intermediary lending market.

The lender will celebrate its 20th anniversary this year, having completed its first mortgage on 13 December 1995.

Its sales team has an average of 10 years’ service with Kensington and 28 years on average in financial services while its business development team has an average of eight years at Kensington and 18 years in financial services.

Meanwhile, Kensington’s underwriters have an average of 19 years experience in financial services, and more than four years with Kensington.

Kensington believes its staff’s long service will be crucial for its expansion plans given the rising market share of intermediaries in the mortgage market.

Steve Griffiths, head of sales and distribution at Kensington, said: “At Kensington we have been providing specialist mortgages through intermediaries for 20 years. This institutional experience is supported by the experience of our people and will stand us in good stead as we look to grow our business this year.

“But we believe experience is more valuable when it is shared and so we will be taking the opportunity to support our intermediaries with a campaign to share our expertise about specialist mortgages in the coming months.

“In the meantime we would be interested to know whether any other lenders have a sales team with as many years’ experience under their belts?”
