Landlords leaving themselves at risk of fraud

The Association of Residential Letting Agents (ARLA) has claimed that landlords are failing to register properties online.

It says that a record amount of money has been paid out by the Land Registry because landlords aren’t register properties online and adequately protecting sensitive data.

Liz Richards, ARLA’s head of legal and policy at ARLA claimed that the £26 million awarded since 2006 could be “easily avoided by landlords taking a few simple steps””.
