Leeds BS enhances online application platform

Leeds Building Society has made changes to Mortgage Hub, its online application platform.

The Society is removing the need for a physical signature on the Customer Declaration form, which no longer needs to be returned in its paper form, and all case requirement communications will now be contained within one email.

In addition, valuations will be instructed automatically on the first day of an application, potentially saving an average of five days compared to the previous process.

The Society also has introduced Automatic Valuation Modelling (AVM) on new purchases, which reduces the reliance on physical valuations for cases meeting the required criteria, further speeding up the application process.

Martese Carton, director of mortgage distribution at Leeds Building Society, said: “Saving intermediaries time and giving a great service is our priority, and these improvements have been shaped from latest piece of insight we commissioned.

“We knew Mortgage Hub would have a positive impact to our end-to-end application process and we continue to build on that foundation, having recently integrated the platform with major sourcing systems.

“The investment in our systems to date made a huge difference in 2021, giving us extra capacity to deal with our biggest ever year for mortgage applications and help more borrowers into their homes sooner.

“We’ll continue to build on our systems improvements and invest in our underwriting and BDM teams to make the experience for intermediaries the very best it can be.”
