Leeds Building Society customers are being invited to help to decorate the mutual’s branches across the country this Christmas and raise cash for local good causes at the same time.

Society branches and main offices have chosen a good cause to support over the festive season and are selling decorations for their Christmas tree – customers and members of the public can buy a decoration, for a suggested donation of £1, and write on their own seasonal message.

Locations taking part include the Society’s processing centre at Silverlink in Wallsend, and its Head Office in Leeds city centre, which will be raising cash for the Society’s Colleagues Charity Group, which supports St Gemma’s Hospice, Martin House Children’s Hospice and Tiny Lives Special Care Baby Unit.

“Customers and colleagues are consistently generous in their support for our charitable activity all year round and we hope they will join with us in raising cash for good causes in their local communities at this time of festive goodwill,” said Gary Brook, Leeds Building Society’s head of corporate communication.
