L&G improves online protection application process

Legal & General has made an upgrade to its intermediary case management system, Online Protection Connect (OLPC).

As part of the update, high-level information will now be provided at the point of sale explaining why a customer has been offered non-standard terms, postponed or declined.

The update aims to make the intermediary and customer experience simpler and quicker, providing clarity on reasons for rated, postponed and declined cases such as lifestyle choices, hazardous pursuits, smoking or the customer’s occupation.

This is part of a wider programme of improvements with additional OLPC updates coming soon.

Craig Brown, director of intermediary at Legal & General Insurance, said: “Intermediaries are critical to our business and following feedback we’ve improved our online application process.

“This new update has been designed to help streamline protection applications, which should free up more time for advisers to focus on what matters to them – growing their business and providing a better service to their customers.”
