L&G recognised for skills training

Legal & General has won a Princess Royal Training Award (PRTA), recognising its StepForward Talent Development Programme.

The programme, which is open to around 1,000 employees within the Legal & General’s Insurance (LGI) division, is designed for those who are aspire to be managers or move into senior positions.

The StepForward programme, implemented by the LGI Customer Service Learning and Development team, takes place across a 10-month period and is designed to give each individual the opportunity to work on projects outside of their normal day job, while also working with the Legal & General leadership team. The training aims to optimise personal development, such as career development, behavioural profiling, coaching and presentation skills.

Throughout the programme, employees are also provided with additional support including a career mentor, a project buddy and their line managers who act as their coach.

The Princess Royal Training Awards honour employers in the UK who can prove that their outstanding training and skills development programmes have resulted in exceptional commercial benefits for their business.
