LV= GI appoints corporate responsibility director

LV= General Insurance (LV= GI) has today appointed Rodney Assock as its new corporate responsibility director with immediate effect.

Assock has been with LV= for 13 years and during that time has held a number of roles, including Operational services director, where he was instrumental in creating the new company values for the business.

As part of his new role, Assock will be responsible for delivering the corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy for LV= GI and defining how the company can better operate in an ethical, environmentally-friendly and sustainable manner.

He will also take responsibility for the diversity and inclusion (D&I) strategy. Since becoming a standalone business in January 2018, all CSR and D&I activity for LV= GI had been managed by a number of steering committees and the appointment of a corporate responsibility director will result in all activity being integrated together.

Assock will report to Sharon Juleff, people director for LV= GI.

Juleff said: “Increasingly, we’re seeing that customers want to buy products and services from companies who share their values and that also have a strong societal purpose. I’m a firm believer that LV= GI’s culture and our values set us apart from our competitors and I’m incredibly proud of what our people do every day to help our customers.

“Over the years, we’ve also worked hard to support our local communities and also focus on D&I. With consumer expectations changing though, it’s now crucial that we bring all the positive work we’ve been doing under one umbrella and I know Rodney will do a fantastic job of taking our CSR and D&I work to the next level.”

Assock added: “I’ve seen first-hand how much passion there is for CSR and D&I within LV= GI, so I’m looking forward to working with our people to drive forward our CSR and D&I strategy. Sustainability is an incredibly important issue to our customers and I’m excited by the opportunity that LV= GI has in putting forward its social purpose and making a real difference in the communities in which we operate.”
