Paragon Bank’s director of mortgage sales, Moray Hulme, has today retired from the company after more than 36 years of service.
Hulme (pictured) joined Paragon in 1987 working in customer services. He subsequently moved into the sales department working in a variety of roles, including managing the sales support team focusing on the buy-to-let market from 1995 when Paragon launched its first products aimed at landlords.
In 1997 he became a regional sales manager where he supported Paragon’s growth in the buy-to-let sector. He took up his current role in October 2019.
Hulme said: “When I joined Paragon in 1987, I never expected that I would be here 36 years later, but it has been a career that I have enjoyed immensely. It was exciting to be there at the start of the buy-to-let market, to support the sector’s growth, and to have supported our landlord customers to provide a home to tenants.
“Buy-to-let is now nearly 30 years old and, with £300 billion balances outstanding, is a mature, seasoned market. I have worked with countless brilliant people in the industry, including brokers, networks and clubs, industry bodies, landlords and, of course, my colleagues here at Paragon. I’m proud of what I have achieved in my career and I aim to stay in contact with the many friends I have made in the sector.
“However, I’m also looking forward to a hard-earned break and spending some time pursuing my passions, golfing, charity work and spending more time in Scotland.”

He is well-liked and respected by all who know him in the industry and has served Paragon with dedication, professionalism and distinction. He will be missed and I wish him a happy and fulfilling retirement.”
