New deal and first-time buyer campaign from the Leek United

The Leek United Building Society is launching a campaign to help prospective first-time buyers in Shropshire.

Between 15-20 July, the Society’s Market Drayton Branch is offering free ‘drop-in’ mini mortgage interviews for people contemplating buying their first home.

During the 30-minute sessions, qualified mortgage adviser Chloe Bason will give customers an initial assessment of their borrowing eligibility – and how much they could potentially spend on a property.

And for those meeting Leek United’s basic lending criteria, there will then be an opportunity to arrange a further appointment to discuss their home ownership dreams in more detail.

Bason said: “The idea is to give anyone contemplating a home of their own a realistic idea of the options open to them, in terms of what they could borrow and the sort of mortgage products we can offer to best suit their needs.

“There are some exciting new developments being built in Market Drayton and the surrounding areas at the moment, and now could be the perfect time for people to find out their mortgage eligibility and potentially look at putting down their own roots in the area.”

The campaign coincides with the launch of a portfolio of new mortgages by the Society, including a five-year fixed rate mortgage at 95% LTV with £250.
