New finance director for the Bath

Tom Leach has been appointed as finance director designate for the Bath Building Society.

Leach joined the team in February 2018 as an executive director and is due to take over the responsibilities of finance director from Kevin Gray on 26 April with responsibility for the society’s accounting, liquidity management and treasury functions, together with IT.

Gray will be taking over the chief executive role from Dick Jenkins when he retires on 26 April.

Leach started his career at Deloitte in 2002 and worked with a range of businesses and industry sectors based in the South West and Wales. He qualified as a chartered accountant in 2005 before specialising in financial services in 2006. In 2010 Leach joined the Principality Building Society, initially as a management accountant, before moving on to head the finance change function, leading a number of significant regulatory and systems change programmes. Latterly, he held the role of group financial controller.

Jenkins said: “We are delighted to have someone of Tom’s calibre and experience joining the society. I have no doubt that he will make an excellent contribution and be part of a successful proven management team able to take the Society into the next chapter of its history.”
