The Yorkshire Building Society has announced the appointment of Catharine French as a new non-executive director.
She will join the Society on 1 April 2020.
French spent 16 years with Barclays and since 2016, has been the chief administrative officer and a member of the executive committee for Barclays UK.
Prior to that she gained experience working for the Treasury Select Committee at the House of Commons on economic and regulatory issues and in management roles with both the Bank of England and the Financial Services Authority.
She brings significant experience in relation to brand, marketing, corporate social responsibility and internal and external stakeholder engagement. In addition to her recent experience in the financial services sector, she also has extensive knowledge of the regulatory environment in which we operate through her previous roles.
French will also become a member of the remuneration committee.
