The Monmouthshire Building Society has announced the appointment of Tony Morgan as its new vice-chairman.
He joined the Society as a non-executive director in 2013 and is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. He previously worked for Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) as senior partner in Wales and deputy chairman of the Wales and West Region.
He spent nearly 33 years with PwC including 22 years as a partner of the firm. As part of his career, he was based in Cardiff, London and Sydney, where he carried out a wide range of accountancy, audit investigation and governance assignments for PwC clients in the UK and overseas.
He was appointed vice-chairman of the Society’s Board in August 2016 and is chairman of the Audit Committee. He also serves on the Remuneration Committee.
Haydn Warman, the Monmouthshire’s chairman, said: “We are extremely pleased to appoint Tony to the position of vice chairman. His extensive accountancy and governance experience at PwC will continue to be of enormous benefit to the Society and our loyal members in today’s challenging and highly regulated financial environment.”
Morgan added: “I am delighted to take on the position of vice chairman of the Society following the recent announcement of another strong set of annual results. As vice chairman, my key aim will be to ensure that the interests of our members is at the forefront of all our business activity.
