No change from MPC amid GDP fall projection

The Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) has once again voted unanimously to leave the Bank Rate unchanged, at its current record low of 0.1%.]

The MPC members also voted to leave asset purchases unchanged.

The Bank has now forecast that GDP is expected to fall by around 4% in the first quarter of 2021. This compares to expectations of a rise in the November Report.
