Openwork goes on the road

Openwork is hosting a series of mortgage, protection and general insurance road shows across the country.

The focus will be on the implications of the Mortgage Market Review and its impact on the way firms operate in a post-MMR world.

The road shows, which are being held in a number of locations across the country, begin on 18 March at Murrayshall House Hotel in Perth and conclude on 3 April at the Holiday Inn in Bristol. More than 1,000 advisers will be attending the events nationwide.

The events, which will also feature an update on Openwork’s mortgage strategy and advice on how advisers can grow their protection business, will provide comprehensive information on the MMR, including:

• The new disclosure requirements
• How advisers should gather information from clients and understand their needs and circumstances
• How to deal with lenders
• How to document recommendations
• Understanding the changes the lenders are making

Paul Shearman, mortgage, protection and general insurance proposition director at Openwork, said: “With the deadline for compliance fast approaching, the focus of this year’s Spring road shows will be on the Mortgage Market Review.

“At what is likely to be a challenging time for advice practices, the road shows are designed to offer both practical and useful help in meeting the new regulatory requirements.”
