Steve Webb, pensions minister, along with JP Morgan chief market strategist and ex-BBC economics editor, Stephanie Flanders, have been confirmed as two of the keynote speakers at this year’s Personal Finance Society national conference.

Titled ‘Beyond better’, it will take place at the ICC, Birmingham, on Thursday 6 November and will be chaired by business speaker and head of corporate development at 7IM, Justin Urquhart Stewart.

This year’s event features a new one-day format and will be complimentary for members.

It will also include a trade exhibition, providing delegates with direct access to many providers, fund managers and support service organisations, together with a choice of 20 tailored CPD sessions.

The daytime schedule will be followed by the opportunity to attend the already sold out annual chartered awards gala dinner, hosted by comedian and TV game show host, Alexander Armstrong.

Keith Richards, Personal Finance Society chief executive, said: “Our national conference is one of the highlights of the financial services calendar, where professional financial planners, professional mortgage brokers and members in supporting roles can come together to hear from subject matter experts, debate the major issues impacting the future of their profession and network with peers and exhibitors.

“The new look format for 2014 was introduced to further increase appeal of the event and will enable twice the number of members to benefit from the inspirational CPD, insight and business relevant ideas on offer.”
