Shawbrook promotes pair

Shawbrook Bank

Shawbrook Bank has announced the promotions within its Commercial Mortgages division of Terry Woodley and Glenn Brown.

Woodley becomes head of credit, while Brown has been made sales desk manager.

Woodley was previously head of specialist lending at Shawbrook, before which he worked at both Natwest and Clydsedale Bank. He said: “I first joined Shawbrook because I liked the fact it was a new, growing bank looking to make a difference in a difficult climate. Since then I’ve been heavily involved with the Commercial Mortgages division’s lending policy, and my promotion is a reflection of that.

“My new role allows me really to focus on that policy with a view to making Shawbrook market leaders in terms of lending appetite, at the same time as protecting the bank and its shareholders by mitigating risk. I am very excited about the new role and the opportunities and challenges it will bring. Shawbrook is continually reviewing its place within the market and coming up with new ways to support SMEs and help them grow. It’s great to be a part of that.”

Brown joined the bank from HSBC in September 2012. He said: “I’m very excited about my appointment as Sales Desk Manager. The creation of this new role and the imminent addition of another sales team member confirm Shawbrook’s commitment to improving the broker experience.

“I’ve been provided with a very clear mandate to ensure that the team consistently delivers the best possible service and exceeds broker expectations. I’m really looking forward to seeing that through.”

Stephen Johnson, managing director, commercial mortgages, Shawbrook Bank, added: “Both Terry’s and Glenn’s promotions are truly deserved. Terry has already added a great deal to the Commercial Mortgages business since joining in the early stages of our launch, and Glenn has been an invaluable member of our sales team.

“Their promotions, along with the spate of other recent moves and appointments at Shawbrook, are good examples of how the management structure in the commercial mortgages division will evolve with the bank’s continued expansion. Our growth strategy for 2014 is ambitious, and our personnel developments both facilitate and evidence this drive. It’s a truly exciting time for the bank.”
