SimplyBiz to host learning and development events

SimplyBiz has published details of this year’s second round of learning and development events, to be held at 21 venues across the country.

Following the first series of the learning and development events, which are accredited by the CII and London Institute of Banking and Finance, earlier this year, the second round of events will cover a wide range of areas, including cash flow modelling, risk and capacity for loss; pensions and divorce and HMRC’s disclosure requirements for trusts.

There will also be an extended, two hour ‘Pensions Masterclass’ presented by Scottish Widows and the SimplyBiz Pensions team, exploring the recent changes to advice as well as the likely future direction of regulatory travel and, of course, an in depth focus on DB pensions.

Standard Life, Aviva, Retirement Advantage and Royal London will also be presenting, with Pensionhelp, Innvotech, Intelliflo and Selectapension also exhibiting at each event to take adviser queries and discuss solutions.

Louise Wilson, head of events at the SimplyBiz Group, said: “We were delighted by both the attendance levels and positive feedback we received from the learning and development events in May and June, and have already taken more than 1200 bookings for the upcoming round. These events are always well attended and we are proud to have an impressive range of speakers from our partners examining the topics which our Member Firms have told us are most important to them.

“Unsurprisingly, pensions are a key focus for advisers at the moment, and industry experts from SimplyBiz, Scottish Widows, Retirement Advantage and Royal London will be presenting on various aspects of this area. As our Members know only too well, the financial advisory landscape is continually evolving and so we look forward to helping advisers navigate any issues they and their clients may face.”

The Learning and Development Events are a key part of The SimplyBiz Group’s annual event programme, which features over 300 meetings every year.  In addition to business area specific sessions like investment forums, mortgage meetings and workplace masterclasses, the Group also offers skills based events covering business efficiencies, training and professional development and a comprehensive schedule of online learning opportunities.
