Bibby Financial Services (BFS) has appointed six new staff to its Bristol sales and operations teams.

Based in BFS’ office in Bradley Stoke, they will work with SMEs throughout the South West region, from Cornwall to Herefordshire and into South Wales.

The sales team welcomes four new business development managers to the company: David Baum, Jon Dyer, Morgan Whiteside and Nick Risdale.

With 18 years’ experience within the invoice finance industry, Baum will work with businesses across Cornwall, Somerset and Devon. Dyer has worked in the sector for 13 years’ and holds the Asset Based Finance Association (ABFA) Certification; he will be responsible for funding small businesses with turnover between £5m and £100m.

Whiteside joins BFS with responsibility for Gloucestershire and Herefordshire, bringing over 15 years’ experience to the business. Risdale’s previous role was based in asset based lending and acquisitions. He brings 16 years’ experience to the business and will be responsible for funding SMEs in Bristol and Bath.

BFS head of sales for the South West, Mike Freebury, said: “I’m extremely pleased to welcome our new team to Bibby Financial Services. Our South West team is committed to boosting vital funding available to SMEs and these new roles will help us to significantly increase our support to businesses in the region.”

BFS also welcomes Craig Durnell as head of operations in Bristol. He has 22 years’ commercial finance expertise and will hold responsibility for a team of 23, coaching and developing operational staff to ensure BFS sets the standard for value and service for its clients.

Joining Durnell is Terry Burke, who joins as relationship manager for customers in the South West. Burke brings a considerable 26 years’ experience in financial services to the role and will work closely with both customers and the sales team.

Sharon Wiltshire, BFS South West managing director, said: “These new appointments reflect the period of growth BFS is seeing at the moment, which is mirrored by the invoice finance market more widely. In the third quarter of the year, we increased funding to SMEs by six per cent and we now provide over £400m of finance to companies across the UK.

“It’s clear that the appetite for funding is growing throughout the region and our strengthened team will ensure that businesses receive the expertise and support they need to grow.”
