Skipton unveils new broker portal

Skipton Intermediaries has launched a eMortgage portal, which it claims provides its broker partners with a “faster and easier” mortgage application process.

After speaking to over 100 broker partners, Skipton has made changes to its eMortgage portal, including a responsive design that ensures the site works on a variety of platforms from mobiles and tablets to PCs and laptops, to enable brokers to use the portal on the go.

Changes have been made to the mortgage application process, including questions to help guide broker partners through the new EU Mortgage Credit Directive (MCD) regulations requirements. There are also questions which will help users to easily identify the regulatory status of buy-to-let clients. An “instant feedback on decision in principle declines” feature has been added to the application process too.

Paul Darwin, Skipton’s head of intermediary relationships, said: “We appreciate how busy all of professional partners are, and that they don’t have time to spend on lengthy, complicated mortgage application. We wanted to address this issue and after speaking to over 100 brokers, we have acted on all of their individual feedback, to bring a variety of key changes to the portal.

“We’ve not only simplified the online mortgage application process but we’ve helped provide brokers with the guidance they need, especially around the new MCD legislation requirement.

“We are committed to constantly finding new ways to ensure our broker partners receive the best possible service from us, these new and exciting changes to our eMortgage portal is part of this commitment.”
