Dudley Building Society has appointed Steve Sandiford as head of lending.
His arrival completes the senior team which chief executive Jeremy Wood has put together over the past six months. Other recent hires include Sam Foxall as head of retail and Gordon Rae as intermediary relationship manager.
Sandiford spent as number of years at Birmingham Midshires, before moving to Birmingham Midshires’ parent as head of specialist products for HBOS.
He joins from One Savings Bank, where he was responsible for delivering a range of buy-to-let and residential products.
JWood said: “When I joined Dudley Building Society, it was to create an outward looking business upholding the traditional strengths of the mutual sector of strong governance and treating customers as individuals. At the same time we wanted to increase value for our members by moving our focus to generating new lending business through the intermediary channel.
“To do that, it was vital to fill key roles with the calibre of people to help me take the Society forward. Steve is one of those people. His track record in developing and bringing to market the kind of products that meet the needs of customers and their advisers is second to none. I am delighted to have him on the team.”
Sandiford added: “Dudley Building Society is a mutual lender with ambition to become an important part of the renaissance of UK mortgage lending.
“I am looking forward to helping Jeremy and my new colleagues develop both the products and the service structure to enable the Society to reach its goals.”
