The Leeds appoints deputy finance director

The Leeds Building Society has appointed Stuart Whittle as its deputy finance director.

Whittle (pictured) joins the mutual from Together Money, where he was director of finance. He also spent eight years as finance director at Close Brothers Motor Finance, and two years as finance director at GE Money auto division.

In his new role he will be responsible for leading the planning, decision support and insight components of the Society’s finance function, and driving delivery of the Society’s ‘Vision for Finance’ through leadership of the finance change programme.

His responsibilities include ensuring finance has the processes, systems and structures in place to provide high quality support and oversight as the Society continues to grow and deliver its strategic objectives.

Whittle said: “I bring energy, enthusiasm and passion to this role but also significant experience of transforming finance functions and building engaged and high performing teams.

“Having lived in Leeds for over 20 years I am thrilled to be joining a local institution which is a significant financial services business both regionally and nationally.

“I am delighted to be joining the Society at this exciting stage in its ongoing development and look forward to helping contribute to future successes.”
