The Leeds donates five-figure sum to cancer charity

The Leeds Building Society has donated £10,000 to Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Former Emmerdale actress Verity Rushworth (pictured, second left), who is playing Maria in The Sound of Music at Leeds Grand Theatre until Friday, went to Leeds Building Society’s head office to receive a £10,000 donation on behalf of Marie Curie Cancer Care.

The £10,000 donation is the annual payment from Leeds Building Society’s Caring Saver account. The Society donates 1% of the average balance in all Caring Saver accounts shared equally between its four charity partners Marie Curie Cancer Care, Age UK, Save the Children and the Leeds Building Society Charitable Foundation.
