The Skipton provides community groups with £40k

The Skipton Building Society has donated another £40,000 to 40 UK good causes to help them during the coronavirus crisis.

The society initially awarded the groups £1,000 each as part of its Community Giving scheme when brokers and other employees within the intermediary industry were asked to nominate charities and community groups in their area which supported housing and the homeless.

The Skipton, the UK’s fourth largest building society, provided the funding while brokers identified those organisations that deserved to receive a donation.

Paul Fenn (pictured), the Skipton’s head of business development, said: “We are delighted to donate another £40,000 to the 40 hardworking groups which were successful in our Community Giving scheme and are doing essential work for people such as the homeless.

“During the Covid-19 crisis we acknowledge the extra pressure being put on these charities and that is why we have made this donation.”
