The Source to run and work for charity

Source Insurance have put together a team from its workforce to run the Cardiff 10k in September.

The group of 19 runners represents almost a third of the company’s total workforce, and they will be running to raise funds for five charities which were nominated by staff at the company.

The five charities chosen by staff are the Alzheimer’s Society, Crohns and Colitis UK, The National Autistic Society, Save the Children and the Veteran’s Aid. These charities were chosen as they all have some close connection with staff members or their families.

The team have set a target to raise £5,000.

Source has said that it will match whatever is raised and on top of this the company is donating 250 hours labour to be made available to the five charities.

Phil Lewis, head of HR and organiser at Source, said: “Each year we try and do something as a company for charities that mean something to people in the company and this seemed like a really good way of doing this in a practical and supportive but hopefully fun way.”
