Treasury to further cut stake in RBS

Government to sell 7.7% stake in bank

UK Government Investments Limited (UKGI) is to sell part of HM Treasury’s shareholding in The Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc

It is looking to sell around 925 million shares, representing approximately 7.7% of the issued ordinary share capital of the company.

As a result, the overall size of HM Treasury’s shareholding in the company will be reduced from approximately 70.1% to approximately 62.4%.

The last time RBS shares were sold was the summer of 2015.
