Fraser Steele Chartered Surveyors’ Scottish House Price Index has reported data for September 2020.
This monthly Index, formerly the LSL Acadata House Price Index, found that, on average, house prices in Scotland increased 0.2% during September, 2020.
This was an average annual increase of 3.0%.
In addition, the average house price in Scotland at £189,452 at the end of September
Alan Penman, business development manager at Walker Fraser Steele, said: “September proved to be another booming month for Scottish house prices, with average figures rising again month on month to a level 3% higher than the previous year. Largely this has come as a result of changing demand from buyers, many of whom have opted for larger, more expensive, houses with bigger gardens and more space for working from home.
“While market activity remains healthy, especially given the extraordinary circumstances, the coronavirus has meant that the Scottish property industry has not operated as normal and we might not see the full effects of this until we return to a more ‘normal’ state of play. In the meantime, the priority for all involved rightly continues to be the safety and wellbeing of everyone involved in the process and the wider Scottish public.”
