Aldermore has appointed Alan Oliver as its new head of external communications.
Oliver (pictured) was formerly head of external affairs at the Nationwide Building Society and has 25 years of communications experience.
At the Nationwide he oversaw its mutual campaigning agenda, its response to the economic downturn, as well as several mergers and acquisitions. Over the past year, Oliver has operated as a consultant, representing several organisations within the financial services sector and beyond.
Holly Marshall, director of corporate affairs at Aldermore, said: “We are delighted to welcome Alan to Aldermore as we embark on the next stage of our journey as part of the FirstRand Group.
“Alan brings to the role a wealth of award-winning communications expertise, and we look forward to working with him as we continue to grow the Bank’s message and brand going forward.”
Oliver added: “I am very excited about joining Aldermore. It’s a bank with a refreshing culture, strong values and an innovative approach to helping homeowners, savers, professional landlords and SMEs.
“They are doing a great job in supporting individual customers and the UK economy. I’m looking forward to helping to raise awareness of a bank committed to providing banking as it should be.”
