Barclays unveils resi rate cuts and adds E-Sign

Barclays unveils mortgage offering for entrepreneurs

Barclays is makes changes to its residential and Reward ranges tomorrow (5 December).

The key rate reductions are as follows:

  • 2.89% 2 Year Fixed, £0 product fee, 95% LTV, Min loan £5,000, Max loan £500,000, will reduce to 2.85%
  • 1.81% 5 year Help to Buy Fixed, £749 product fee, 75% LTV, Min loan £25,000 Max loan £450,000, will reduce to 1.79%
  • 1.97% 5 year Great Escape Fixed, £0 product fee, 75% LTV, Min loan £50,000k, Max loan £1,000,000, will reduce to 1.93%

No products are increasing in rate or being withdrawn as part of this launch.

In addition, Barclays has announced that it has fully introduced the Digital (E-Sign) mortgage deed for remortgage applications across its complete panel of solicitors.

This means eligible clients will no longer have to get their signatures witnessed or risk their documents being lost in the post. They will be able to log in and sign their deed at any time, from anywhere, meaning their application is likely to move along more quickly.

Remortgage clients may be eligible if:

  • Separate mobile numbers are provided in the application for each applicant
  • There are no name changes
  • They are repaying an existing mortgage (not an unencumbered property)

Below is a summary of all the rate changes:

Residential:

Purchase

  • 2.89% 2 Year Fixed, £0 product fee, 95% LTV, Min loan £5000, Max loan £500,000, will decrease to 2.85%
  • 1.73% 5 Year Fixed, £0 product fee, 60% LTV, Min loan £5000, Max loan £1,000,000, will decrease to 1.69%
  • Green Home Help to Buy 1.76% 5 Year Fixed, £749 product fee, 75% LTV, Min loan £25,000, Max loan £450,000, will decrease to 1.74%
  • Help to Buy 1.81% 5 Year Fixed, £749 product fee, 75% LTV, Min loan £25,000, Max loan £450,000, will decrease to 1.79%
  • Help to Buy 1.98% 5 Year Fixed, £0 product fee, 75% LTV, Min loan £25,000, Max loan £450,000, will decrease to 1.95%

Remortgage

  • Great Escape 1.89% 5 Year Fixed, £0 product fee, 60% LTV, Min loan £50,000, Max loan £1,000,000, will decrease to 1.86%
  • Great Escape 1.97% 5 Year Fixed, £0 product fee, 75% LTV, Min loan £50,000, Max loan £1,000,000, will decrease to 1.93%

Buy-to-let:

Purchase and Remortgage

  • 2.21% 2 Year Fixed, £0 product fee, 60% LTV, Min loan £35,000, Max loan £1,000,000, will decrease to 2.18%
