Specialist distributor Complete FS is holding its third ‘alternative Ryder Cup’ on 1 October.
A bridging and commercial team will represent the USA and a mortgage team represent Europe.
The match is designed to raise as much cash as possible for the Alzheimer’s Society.
The mortgage team comprises:
Captain Tony Salentino – Complete FS
Mark Rookyard – GE Money
Graeme Aitken – Bucks BS
Gordon Rae – Dudley BS
Andrew Ferguson – Kent Reliance
Richard Keen – The Loans Engine
Jon Sturgess – Magellan
Stuart Bryce – Mansfield BS
The bridging and commercial team is represented by:
Captain Phil Jay – Complete FS
Andy Reid – Interbay
Rob Love – United Trust Bank
Pete Turner – Shawbrook
Gareth Lewis – Precise
Jonathan Seifert – Hudson Keys
Nick Jones – Blemain
Jeremy Crinall – Funding Circle
USA retained the alternative cup in 2013 having won convincingly in 2012 on the first occasion that the contest was played. However, Salentino is confident of success this time.
He said: “We were unlucky last year not to snatch victory, but the draw we had in 2013 will inspire us to great things this year. We have strengthened the team and I have taken a leaf out of the Paul McGinley book of captaincy after his successful campaign to retain the Ryder Cup. This is war and we shall prevail.”
Opposing captain Jay added: “I am pleased to welcome back the majority of last year’s team and I am confident we will prevail. The Mortgage Team is long on bluster and short on hope. I have no doubt that we will comfortably retain ‘our’ trophy.”
