The Chairman of the Treasury Select Committee (TSC), Rt Hon John McFall MP, has been awarded the title Which? Consumer Champion for 2009.
McFall , who is MP for West Dunbartonshire, has been chairman of the TSC since 2001. He won the award for his role in improving financial services for consumers.
Since November 2008, the TSC has played a key role in questioning bankers, politicians and regulators about how the causes of the financial crisis and lessons that can – and should – be learnt.
Last December McFall joined with Which? and fellow politicians, Rt Hon David Davis MP and Dr Vince Cable MP to form the Future of Banking Commission.
