NFU Mutual has appointed Dr Christine Kennedy to its board of directors.
Kennedy is a leading agricultural figure in Northern Ireland and brings a wealth of expertise gained in a number of senior posts, including director of food and commodities with the Ulster Farmer’s Union and as a board member of the Food Strategy Implementation Panel and Agri-Food and Bioscience Institute (AFBI).
In partnership with her husband, Kennedy also owns and runs a 200 acre livestock farm in County Down, recently changing focus from dairy to suckler herds.
In 2006 Kennedy was awarded an OBE for her contribution to Northern Ireland’s Agriculture and Dairy Industry.
Kennedy has been a member of NFU Mutual’s Northern Ireland Regional Advisory Board for many years and has chaired the Board since 2012.
She said: “It is a priviledge to be appointed to the board of NFU Mutual. I have a long association with the company and look forward to bringing my agricultural skills and expertise to the role.”
