Legal & General Home Finance is to hold a series of CISI-accredited breakfast roundtables for wealth advisers, aimed at helping them to work with their clients on accessing property equity for income.

The roundtables will include an overview of Legal & General Home Finance’s new Income Lifetime Mortgage, led by product specialist Amy Mulvey. Topics covered will include the rationale and research behind the solution and how advisers can engage with clients looking to derive income from their property wealth.

Rob Miles, head of adviser sales and Legal & General Home Finance, will discuss the changing shape of retirement lending, and offer insights on how wealth advisers can incorporate retirement lending solutions when constructing client portfolios.

The Income Lifetime Mortgage, launched in January of this year, allows clients to release equity in their home to provide a regular monthly income over a fixed term. The amount of monthly income, interest rate and income term are all fixed at the outset.

Miles said: “The retirement lending market is a genuine opportunity for wealth advisers, and products like our Income Lifetime Mortgage mean that property can now form a part of the income mix for homeowners, not just buy-to-let landlords.

“For wealth advisers with clients looking to increase their income to live a more colourful retirement, the Income Lifetime Mortgage could be an appealing way to optimise their property equity.

“Legal & General Home Finance has designed this roundtable series to ensure wealth advisers are up to date with the latest solutions and offerings in the market, and we’ll be visiting Cardiff, Harrogate and Southampton next week for the events.”
