Principality Building Society’s Mold branch has provided 20 new rugby shirts for Clwb Rygbi Dinbych/ Denbigh Rugby Club under 15s.
Mark Wilson, Principality’s Mold branch manager, said: “The club is at the heart of the community and has a strong following through all ages. It is investing in developing the talent within the area so we wanted to invest in the club in some way.
“We hope the new shirts for the under 15s will help the team go from strength to strength to continue on the success of last season at Denbigh RFC.”
In the 2012/2013 season the First XV (senior) won the SWALEC, Division 2 North Championship and the North Wales Intermediate Cup and the undefeated Second XV (senior) won their league and were also finalists at their Cup fixture in Parc Eirias, Colwyn Bay.
The new shirts, which come complete with the club’s twitter hashtag, were presented to the team at the National Eisteddfod 2013 in Denbigh and will be available for the 2013/2014 season.
David Jones, junior coach Denbigh Rugby Club, said: “We are very grateful to Principality Building Society for its support as this will help our players to look and perform their best on the pitch. After a very successful season last year we wanted to attract the rugby talent of the future to the club and with the increase in social media we hope to reach a new audience that will help Denbigh RFC to prosper for many years to come.”
Principality has contributed to a variety of similar causes in the past year, including sponsoring a football tournament in Aberystwyth, sponsoring new kits for Cwmbran Park Bowling Club and improving the gardens at Penarth Community Centre.
