Skipton Building Society for Intermediaries has announced the speakers for its next set of broker webinars.

Jane Benjamin, head of intermediary acquisition at Mortgage Brain, will host the first webinar on 17 June.

She is “constantly looking for new ways to make mortgage advice more efficient” and will be sharing her thoughts from 9.30-10am.

The four further webinars are as follows:

  • Thursday 24th June 9.30-10am: Ben LeRoy, regional director, Connells Surveyors, asks “What do valuers really think?”
  • Thursday 1st July 9.30-10am:  Skipton’s most asked questions (and answers) and how you could get more from its service, featuring Skipton’s head of direct distribution, Claire Davey, and senior service manager – mortgages, Hayley McGee.
  • Thursday 8th July 9.30-10am: Skipton Talks Speedy Remortgages, featuring one of Skipton’s underwriting leaders, Jayne Roberts, who will be joined by a guest speaker from Conveyancing Direct Property Lawyers (CDPL).
  • Thursday 15th July 9.30-10am: What role does technology play in the future of intermediaries? Featuring Skipton’s regional manager for intermediary relationships, John Scrivens, and mortgage product lead Charlotte Harrison.

The first series of Skipton Talks earlier this year drew over 3,000 registrations from brokers across the country. Anyone interested in the series of Skipton webinars can find out more and register at www.skipton-intermediaries.co.uk/skipton-talks

Christine Newell, of Paradigm Mortgage Services, said: “I’ve had the pleasure of attending a few of these webinars and I have to say that they have been very well run. It was great to see a lender being innovative and using their initiative to keep in contact with their broker customers and offer some kind of normality at a time where their own firm was pretty fragmented.

“I have always learnt something new about the topic of discussion and enjoyed the interaction and general camaraderie feel the webinars have projected.”

Paul Fenn (pictured), Skipton’s head of business development, added: “We’re delighted to offer our new Summer series of Skipton Talks webinars. There was plenty of interest from brokers in our first series in 2021.

“Skipton Talks 2021 is a continuation and upgrade on our 2020 Webinar series which attracted thousands of brokers and gave us some really helpful insight into what they want to hear about. The feedback has helped us shape the discussion topics and content to keep it relevant and useful for brokers and echoes Skipton’s commitment around Making Things Easier for You.”
